Oakhill Cromford

Oakhill Cromford, Where Elegant Heritage Meets Modern Luxury

Oakhill Cromford is a beautiful Grade 2 Listed building built by the Arkwright family in the mid 19th century as a private family dwelling.  It is a Georgian Style hotel which has been sympathetically restored and refurbished by its new owners in 2021.  The Oakhill Cromford hotel is located in the stunning Derbyshire countryside, set in extensive landscaped gardens within the historic village of Cromford.  Oakhill is only a few minutes’ walk from the centre of the village, in the heart of the Derwent Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is only a ten minute walk from the train station.

Oakhill Cromford has four beautifully furnished suites, all with the most wonderful open views.  Each is finished to an impeccable standard, with original features and thoughtful heritage touches throughout.  There are ten further bedrooms offering comfortable and spacious accommodation with en-suite facilities.

You can enjoy a fine dining experience at Oakhill, available for residents and non-residents alike.  The restaurant serves creative cuisine made from fresh, seasonal, ingredients sourced locally wherever possible.  Relax over a leisurely lunch, or dinner, in the beautifully restored dining room, or take afternoon tea in our picturesque grounds.

Our stylish bar is the heart of the hotel.  All are welcome, you don’t have to be staying to enjoy a drink with us.  We offer a wide range of beers, wines and spirits, including many from local producers.

“A beautiful comfortable and welcoming hotel, with amazing garden setting and excellent food. Staff were extremely helpful, friendly and couldn’t do enough to please. I couldn’t have picked more a perfect place to have a wonderful wedding. My husband and I will definitely be going back to stay in the near future”

“The hotel grounds look like something out of a dream. The gardens are absolutely stunning. The hotel itself is excellent, very comfortable and warming. The staff were out of this world and the food is to die for. The only downside was I had to come home. I would definitely recommend this hotel. There is also a campsite on the side grounds with hard standings and electric hookups, this will be on my to do list as the scenery is breathtaking.I can not honestly wait to come back, it can’t come sooner ”

A lovely afternoon tea baby shower! All cakes, scones and desserts were made in house, lovely sandwiches too. Beautiful building and gardens were exceptional. The staff were friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend. We will be returning 🙂
